Travel vaccines

Dr Éimhín Ansbro has completed specialized training in travel vaccines. To ensure your health and safety during your travels, we recommend booking an appointment with Dr Ansbro. During this appointment, your travel itinerary will be discussed, and any previous vaccinations will be noted. Following the consultation, you will be scheduled to meet with a nurse for the administration of the necessary vaccines. To allow sufficient time for preparation, please book your appointment at least 5 weeks before your travel date. For appointments, please contact our reception.

We have launched our online booking facility. This will enable our patients to book an appointment with one of our doctors , nurses or phlebotomist. Download the Pippo app from the app store. Select Temenos Medical Centre from search menu. Complete the registration process. You will receive a text when your registration is complete. Start booking your appointments in your Pippo app. Patients will still be able to call the surgery to book an appointment should they wish to do so.

PRE-TRAVEL MMR VACCINE FOR 6-12 MONTH OLD INFANTS

Measles is circulating widely globally. If you are travelling abroad with a baby who is aged between 6 and 11 months inclusive, you should get your child vaccinated with a pre-travel MMR vaccine at least 2 weeks before travelling. They will still need to get their 12 month MMR dose as scheduled.

  • Globally Measles is circulating widely

  • Infants aged 6-11 months inclusive travelling overseas should get a pre-travel MMR

  • Pre-travel MMR should ideally be administered 2 weeks* or more before overseas travel

  • Children who get a pre-travel MMR should also get a routine MMR at 12 months

  • The minimum duration between a pre-travel MMR and the routine 12 month MMR should be four weeks, so a slight delay to the routine MMR may be needed

*If you are travelling in less than two weeks it is still recommended that you get the MMR vaccine for your infant so that it may offer some protection

Please call reception to make an appointment with one of our nurses for the pre-travel MMR vaccine for your infant if you are travelling overseas this summer.
